Walter White Elementary School stands as one of the oldest schools in Ceres. Built in 1949, this school campus was the most in need for expansion and modernization. In 2012, as part of a district-wide facilities modernization project, the District replaced 14 old portable classrooms with two permanent instructional wings.
One wing houses eight new classrooms. The second instructional building includes six additional classrooms. These two new buildings are located on the north side of the campus, bordering the District’s corporation yard.
As a result of the new construction, a rear entrance from Ninth Street has been created to include a new student drop-off zone and staff parking lot. These additional improvements were completed in time for the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
As the elementary school with the largest student body, at more than 675 students, these additional facilities are a great addition to the campus and will effectively serve students for years to come.
Walter White Elementary School is a tobacco free school.
